About Justin Michaud

Justin is a licensed Massage Therapist, certified Classical Pilates Instructor, and Registered Nurse. Justin has always made health and fitness an essential part of his life. He began his career in the field of health and medicine as a Registered Nurse working with patients living with various chronic ailments. Many of which could be prevented with a healthy lifestyle. This led to a desire to work in the field of preventative health care.

His interest in both massage therapy and Pilates came through personal experience. Therapeutic massage helped him to work though shoulder and neck pain while working as an RN. From his first Pilates lesson he felt the difference it brought to his body and mind. It incorporated focus, strength, and flexibility like no other form of exercise he had ever done. He didn’t have to workout in a hot room to break a good sweat. Pilates led him to become more aware of his own body and poor postural habits that were leading to lower back pain and requiring regular visits to his physiotherapist for spinal and pelvic adjustments. Pilates helped strengthen these weaknesses and he has only had to visit his physiotherapist once since the summer of 2011 for a lower back adjustment instead of every 4-6 weeks.

Justin is certified in Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Chair Massage, Myofascial Release Technique, Neuromuscular Technique, Pregnancy & Infant Massage, and Swedish Massage.

He received Pilates training through Peak Pilates under world renowned Pilates Master Trainer Clare Dunphy. Clare is 2nd generation to Joseph Pilates, Justin is now 3rd generation and continues the original teachings of Joseph Pilates.

Justin partners with his clients to help them reach their goals to live a healthy lifestyle and get fit. He strongly believes in the statement made by Joseph Pilates that “physical fitness is the first requisite to happiness.”
